HSE Manager

Job brief

The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within the shipyard. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, promote a culture of safety, and contribute to the overall well-being of our employees and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advice Management of any unsafe acts/conditions and the mitigating control measures.
  • Investigate near-miss, accident and incident.
  • Record safety related statistics
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding HSE related matters.
  • Liaise with the contractors at site.
  • Update management of any related legislation and standards.
  • Liaise with the workers at site.
  • Review Safety Deliverables of Sub-contractor for approval.
  • Weekly and Monthly Reporting to Project Management Team.
  • Give advice to colleagues and sub-ordinates to execute an activity safely.
  • Lead a team of safety officers at site to execute what is written on our Safety Plans.
  • Task assigned by the HSE Manager in relation to HSE matters from time to time.
  • Ensuring the usage of proper tools and equipment to maintain safety and periodically verifies certifications of equipment and their adherence to safety regulations.
  • Reporting of any unsafe work or stopping work that does not comply with HSE procedures.
  • Advise for Health & Safety requirements and monitor the Hazard controls implemented on site based on Risk assessment.
  • Advices Health and Safety requirements and shall monitor the Hazard controls are implemented on site as per the Method Statement / Risk assessment.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping at every shift change in the work area.
  • Ensure that necessary precautionary measures are implemented at the planning stage of any night shift activities.
  • Train and educate new employees by mean of HSE & organizing safety education programs.
  • Conducting regular HSE inspections of sites to identify the occupational hazards and risks follow up on corrective actions and giving clearance for work permits incumbency with HSE requirements.
  • Preparing HSE plans & procedures
  • Conducting accident/incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all PPEs issued to the workforce are appropriate to the task as specified in operating Procedures and as per relevant risk assessments

Requirements

  • Candidate must have AK3 and experience working in Shipyard
  • Experience working with any Shipyard projects will be an added advantage
  • Willing to start work immediately
  • 5 years experience in same position in Shipyard Industry
