Job Overview: The PPIC (Production Planning and Inventory Control) at Noahtu Shipyard will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments to coordinate production schedules, monitor inventory levels, and streamline workflow efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning: Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and production staff to develop comprehensive production plans and schedules. Ensure alignment of production schedules with project timelines, resource availability, and customer requirements.
  2. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely replenishment and efficient utilization of inventory.
  3. Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Conduct material requirement planning based on production schedules, forecasted demand, and lead times. Generate purchase requisitions, production orders, and work orders to support production activities and meet project deadlines.
  4. Capacity Planning: Assess production capacity and resource availability to identify potential bottlenecks and capacity constraints. Optimize resource allocation and production schedules to maximize throughput and minimize idle time.
  5. Production Monitoring and Control: Monitor production progress, identify deviations from planned schedules, and implement corrective actions to address production delays or disruptions. Coordinate with production teams to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  6. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. Implement measures to prevent defects, rework, and non-conformance in production processes.
  7. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Analyze production performance metrics, including throughput, cycle time, and efficiency. Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, streamline workflow efficiencies, and reduce lead times. Implement best practices, lean methodologies, and process optimization techniques to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication across departments, including production, procurement, engineering, and logistics, to ensure alignment of goals, priorities, and objectives. Facilitate inter-departmental coordination to resolve issues and achieve shared objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning, inventory control, or operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or shipyard environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
