Job Overview:
The Project Manager will play a key role in planning, executing, and closing shipyard projects within scope, budget, and schedule. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage resources efficiently, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects that meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, monitoring and controlling project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and client requirements.
- Timeline Adherence: Monitor project timelines, identify potential delays, and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
- Contract Compliance: Ensure that all project activities comply with contractual agreements, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring that all changes are documented, approved, and communicated effectively.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate regular project reports, documenting project progress, issues, and resolutions. Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in shipyard operations or maritime projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding processes and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in project management software tools.
