Job Overview:
The Welding Supervisor at Noahtu Shipyard will be responsible for supervising and coordinating welding operations to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The incumbent will lead a team of welders, monitor work progress, and enforce adherence to welding procedures and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of welders, fitters, and apprentices in performing welding activities across the shipyard. Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure the efficient execution of welding tasks and the achievement of production targets.
- Work Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with production planners, project managers, and department heads to plan and schedule welding activities according to project timelines and deadlines. Allocate resources, prioritize work orders, and coordinate with other departments to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of welded structures. Conduct visual inspections, welder qualification tests, and non-destructive testing (NDT) as per established procedures and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for welding personnel. Conduct safety briefings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards.
- Training and Development: Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to welding personnel to enhance their skills, knowledge, and proficiency in welding techniques and safety practices. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the welding team.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and welder certifications. Generate progress reports, performance metrics, and KPIs to track productivity, quality, and safety performance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Coordinate with maintenance teams to address equipment breakdowns and repair needs promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements:
